Kasi Athletics Club hosts Mothers Day celebration race

VANDERBIJPARK.- Kasi Athletics Club will host 5km and 10km race.

This much anticipated race will take place at Cecil Oldridge Park, in Vanderbijlpark on May 11, and is part of Mother’s Day celebration.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, the club secretary Refiloe Peo said that this is an annual race to celebrate Mother’s Day. Peo said the race is held to celebrate mothers who are still active in sports.She also told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it is also held in acknowledgement to those women who contributed in sports especially athletics.

“We want to make this event a great success and attract more sponsors in the future. I have no doubt this race will be one of the biggest in Gauteng. We invite all the female athletes and individual mothers to join us on the day. It is going to be a great day, and I can promise you that you’re going to have fun. As Kasi Athletics Club we want to celebrate every mother who is involved in sports,” she said.
