A Valiant effort
At the start of 2022, Jahshii rode high with the number one song Born Fighter, his biggest hit to date. He continued that streak throughout the year with Born Soldier, How We A Live featuring Moyann, and God in Charge.
Skeng also had a good year with the Likkle Miss remix featuring Nicki Minaj which exposed him to an international audience. Talibhan featuring Stalk Ashley, Protocol 2 with Tommy Lee Sparta, Life Changes, Eediattt with Jigsta and Gvnman Spaniard with Govana, kept him on the radar for most of 2022.
Enter Valiant in late 2022. He first commanded attention with the slang Kotch e Line but songs including St Mary, North Carolina, Cut All Losses, Siance, Speed Off, Barbie’s, Scholar, Motor Sport with Pablo YG and the explosive Dunce Cheque signalled his arrival as a force to be reckoned with.
“Di entire past year since my break has been di highlight of my career. This is what we [The Diplomats] have been working for,” Valiant told the Jamaica Observer‘s Splash.
The Diplomats refers to people associated with Valiant.
He added that his life has changed drastically since his breakthrough.
“I have gotten very busy an’ now more people know me, so I can’t be in public like I used to. But once I can please my fans, it’s worth it,” said Valiant.
For 2023, the deejay (real name Raheem Bowes) hopes for even bigger things.
“Di aim is to keep focused on making more hits for di fans. More work, more hits an’ more entertainment,” said Valiant.
